Meet Marsha Hutson, she is helping in the kitchen to make sure our volunteers are fed, healthy and happy!
“Last fall, after reading Radical by David Platt, I was convinced that I must step completely out of my comfort zone and leave familiarity behind to fully trust God’s leading. So, when I heard about United Saints from a friend at Bible study and his plan to come, in Jan. 2012, I investigated online.
Desiring more information, I called United Saints and discovered their need for a chef’s assistant during the busiest school spring break weeks. I knew that would be just the job for me.
In all my years of travel throughout the U.S., I’d never wanted to explore as far south as New Orleans, especially because of the humidity. I’m also a small town or country gal at heart. This made United Saints a perfect opportunity to be of service to others, and to trust God instead of just my own knowledge.
I have been blessed repeatedly with wonderful experiences and have acquired new friends through my interactions with the staff, other volunteers, housemates, community people, as well as with the church folks who have been hosting our United Saints volunteers.”
