The United Saints have partnered with David Kramer of Gulf Coast Works to build a new home for Linda J, whose home was completely destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Linda is the lead person, the President of the Lower 9th Ward Homeownership Association, who has tirelessly assisted in the recovery efforts of other folks in the 9th Ward. She has focused her efforts solely on helping other Ninth Ward residents recover from the devastation and she and her family have been living with friends. Four years after Katrina, we want to help her get her family back into her own new home.
Volunteers have been busy constructing a brand new single story two bedroom home for Linda and her family. The project is very near completion, sporting a second coat of paint on the outside and undergoing final painting inside. Installation of the kitchen cabinets, flooring and baseboard trim are currently in progress.
