Ms. Rose

She has 60 days to comply

Ms. Rose has been living with family in Baltimore since her evacuation in August of 2005. Her duplex shotgun on Robert Street was her home and major source of income (she used to rent the other half). In her absence, she arranged for the interior to be completely renovated, but the contractor stopped before completion and stole the remaining materials. In the meantime, she received citations from City Codes Enforcement declaring her home a blighted property and a public nuisance. United Saints first saw the property on March 31st. Her hearing date was April 6th.

Working with the Freret Neighborhood Center and Rose’s neighbors, we were able to do emergency blight remediation on April 1st and she was given a sixty day reprieve to bring the exterior up to standards. We are continuing to work with her and members of the neighborhood to bring her into compliance by her deadline.

Update::: 7/18/2011

Thanks to all the volunteers at United Saints, we were able to bring her home into compliance by the deadline!
