We welcome all volunteers, skilled and unskilled.
We can train you on anything you don’t know!
Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
PROJECTS
Rebuilding projects may include but are not limited to: gutting, roofing, gutter repair, siding, drywall installation, mudding, sanding, priming, painting, flooring, fencing, yard work, and landscaping.
Office projects could include community service, volunteer recruitment, data entry, grant writing, fundraising, graphic design, blogging, photos and video, etc.
WORK DAY
Summer: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (Half hour lunch)
Winter: Monday- Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (Half hour lunch)
COST
Volunteer Service Only
$10 per day, per person. This does not apply to local volunteers with an Alabama State ID.
Includes: project coordination and transportation to the project site.
Volunteer Service and Housing
*(15 work days or less) $30.00 per night.
Includes: project coordination, housing, and some meals.
* Volunteer staff (15 work days or more) $150.00 one time fee.
Allows for a more inclusive experience working with our staff. Includes: project coordination, housing, and some meals.
ACCOMMODATIONS
We can accommodate housing for a small group or large group. Housing accommodations are dormitory style with bunk beds and full bath. Volunteers are asked to bring a sleeping bag, pillow and towel.
FOOD
Some food but not all meals are provided, so we recommend volunteers budget for this. We will provide breakfast and lunch to volunteers. Volunteers are responsible for their own evening meals. There is a kitchen in our housing facilities.
WORK CLOTHES and SAFETY ITEMS
Volunteers are expected to wear appropriate work clothes to volunteer in. Jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts are fine to work in and closed toed shoes or boots are required. Volunteers need to bring their own work goggles and work gloves to insure safety on the project sites.
