Summer: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Winter: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Projects Rebuilding projects may include: gutting, roofing, gutter repair, siding, drywall installation, mudding, sanding, priming, painting, flooring, fencing, yard work, and landscaping.

Thank you for your interest in our program.  We appreciate all the help, and could never make the change we seek without the able hands of volunteers.

 

We have been present in the city of New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina.

 

We welcome all volunteers, skilled and unskilled. We can train you on anything you don’t know! Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Location, Location, Location!

Our office is in Central City. We are within walking distance of the streetcar, just blocks away from Bourbon Street, the French Quarter, and all things NOLA.

$10 Person/ per day

Short Term (less than 15 work days)

Volunteer Staff (more than 15 work days) MUST BE 18 or older
Flat $150 fee Includes: Volunteer Placement, Housing and some Meals. (Hot Dinner Meals will only be provided for groups of 8 or more.)

Accommodations are dormitory style apartments.  Volunteers will sleep on bunk beds. Volunteers will need to provide their own sheets, sleeping bag, and pillow.

Food

If you are a Long Term Volunteer, some meals will be provided when we have groups in town.  For groups volunteering, meals will be provided for groups of 8 or more.  We also receive some donations of food periodically including Whole Foods Bakery.

Work Clothes, Saftey

Volunteers are expected to wear appropriate work clothes to volunteer in.  Jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts are fine to work in and closed toe shoes or boots are required. Volunteers are asked to bring their own safety glasses, hearing protection and work gloves to insure safety on the project sites.
