Finding Yourself Through
Service to Others
Thank you for your interest in our program! We appreciate all the help, and could never make the change we seek without the able hands of volunteers.
We have been present in the city of New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina.
We welcome all volunteers, skilled and unskilled. We can train you on anything you don’t know! Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Our office is in Central City. We are within walking distance of the streetcar, just blocks away from Bourbon Street, the French Quarter, and all things NOLA.
Accommodations are dormitory style apartments. Volunteers will sleep on bunk beds. Volunteers will need to provide their own sheets, sleeping bag, and pillow.
For groups volunteering, meals will be provided for parties of 8 or more. This includes a continental style breakfast (cereal, fruit, toast, and bagels), fixings for a sac lunch (sandwich, fruit, snacks) and a hot dinner Monday through Friday.
Volunteers are expected to wear appropriate work clothes to volunteer in. Jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts are fine to work in and closed toe shoes or boots are required. Volunteers are asked to bring their own safety glasses, hearing protection and work gloves to insure safety on the project sites.
