LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!

We offer the best location in New Orleans for volunteers! Our project is centrally located near the Garden District and right off the St. Charles streetcar line. We are within walking distance of cafes, restaurants, entertainment and only three miles from the French Quarter! Audubon Park, Tulane and Loyola Universities are only minutes away.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodations are dormitory style.  Volunteers will either sleep on a cot, air mattress, or bunk bed. Volunteers will need to provide their own sheets, sleeping bag, and pillow.

FOOD

Some food, but not all meals are provided so we recommend volunteers budget for this. We are fortunate to receive periodic food donations from area food banks as well as the Whole Foods bakery.  This food will be available for volunteers to prepare themselves. We also receive cold lunches twice a week from an area churc

WORK CLOTHES and SAFETY ITEMS

Volunteers are expected to wear appropriate work clothes to volunteer in.  Jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts are fine to work in and closed toed shoes or boots are required. Volunteers are asked to bring their own work goggles and work gloves to insure safety on the project sites.

HURRICANE ADVISORY

Hurricane season in New Orleans is from June 1-September 30. Should there be a threat of a hurricane all volunteers will be asked to evacuate. The United Saints is not responsible for evacuating volunteers.
